When I became a first time mom I was woefully unprepared for the massive changes coming my way.

I had just switched jobs, we had just bought our house, and money was definitely tight. How was I going to afford all the things a baby needs? A toddler? Beyond? I started the journey on everyone’s favorite online drop shipping sight and felt my stomach knot. Everything was SO expensive. What if I didn’t like it? What if I had a picky baby and THEY didn’t like it? There had to be a better option!

And there was… Consignment stores.

Just down the street from my house I found my local children’s consignment store which ended up being one of my favorite places to go if I had some time to kill, both before and after my son was born. I quickly became a regular face to the employees, a consignor, and a shopper. How could I not go as often as possible? Their stock was always changing and the deals were too good to pass up!

Fast forward about 2 years and here we are again, pregnant with number 2, new house purchase, cross country move, and new jobs for both my husband and I. But where were the children SPECIFIC consignment stores? I had stuff that my son had outgrown I wanted to consign and needed to replace items I’d given up, for this new baby. Where were they? A 40+ minute drive away. After looking at all the options I realized I just didn’t have the time to participate in these sales with all their rules and regulations and serious prep requirements! As wonderful and idea as they were, they just didn’t work for me.

So… and idea sprouted and I was head first in research, planning, and execution of a new store here in Stillwater, OK. Cowbelle’s and Cowpoke’s Children’s Consignment opened November 10th, 2023
